I express my salutation to one and all. Our scriptures say that man is the crown creation of the universe. He has achieved glorious success in many fields of life and engrossed himself in worldly pelf and powers; comforts and amenities. He can talk to distant people, can view global sceneries, reach other continents in matter of hours, could fly like birds in the sky, can swim in the water like fish, reach the depth in the ocean; but cannot walk a few steps with the fellow human beings. This is due to lack of love and self realization. Scientists believe that everyone who is seriously involved in the laws of universe, a spirit vastly superior to that of man, one in the face of which, we with our modest powers must feel humble. Swami Vivekananda gave a clarion call to the humanity for realization of humanity “Arise, Awake, Stop not till the goal is reached; Approach the enlightened true master, know thyself, who are you, from where you have come and where you return back”. Therefore it is necessary; man should know the supreme soul which is manifest in all human beings and the dire need to acquire spiritual enlightenment. Today man is lagging behind in love. Jealousy, intolerance, violence, narrow mindedness. Unless he realizes his inner self which is part and parcel of our soul, the fountain of love and nectar, he cannot achieve his desired goal of love.
Today man is fully involved in illusions, delusions and orthodox belief. To illustrate this point a story: One man was walking in a moon light towards adjacent village. He saw a well full of water. He peeped into the well and saw the image of moon in the water. He took pity on the moon; thinking that the moon is drowning in the water, he brought a rope and dropped one end into the well. He tied the other end of the rope to his waist and started pulling the rope, thinking the moon is tied up to the rope in the well. The rope snapped and the person fell on his back on the ground. When he looked up, he found the moon on the sky. He believed that it is due to his effort the moon came out from the well and reached to its place in the sky. This is an example of delusion.
From ages saints and social reformers were inspiring the man to behave like human being. Another story: One person was going to a village in midsummer. On the way he felt thirsty. Hurriedly he approached the first house. A person who was s Sirpanch of the village was resting on a cot, replied that some person will come and give him the water. Quarter hour passed but none appeared. He again requested the Sirpanch for water. The Sirpanch again repeated that some person will come and provide him water. The thirsty man told the Sirpanch “Sir, for some time why can’t you become that some person” This is the trend going around us. Man should adhere to the moral ethics while dealing with the fellow beings.
A learned one emphasizes the following:
Watch your intent as it becomes thought;
Watch your thought as it becomes your words;
Watch your words as they become your character;
Watch your character as it becomes ‘Samskar’,
This is pivotal to gaining salvation.
While living in the society one should consider and cat according to the following:
- All human beings are the family of one God Almighty.
- Service of the humanity is service of God.
- Man should develop the culture of respecting and loving and serving the needy.
- He should not construct the wall of hatred jealousy, alienation, egoism violence, caste, creed, doctrine, regionalism, tribe, colour and country.
- One should think for what he can do for the society, not what society does for him.
Healthy society can be formed with healthy and enlightened people; then only Ramrajya (Peaceful co-existence of human beings) can be dreamt.
Each and every one may strive to achieve this noble and stupendous task which is waiting ahead.
I am grateful to the A.P. Retired Forest Officers Association, brothers and sisters, in general and Sri. T. Narayan Swamy in particular who gave me this opportunity. Thank you all once again Namaskar.
