Hereafter actors have to pay service tax apart from income tax. Good, imposing tax is not difficult but to implement it is very difficult. This could further increase the number two account or black money as they call. Moreover, every year, the IT officials announce the names of the prompt tax payers but the names of the defaulters should be dug out by some investigative journalist.

Still no action is initiated though the top stars owe lots of money to the Department. Like polio drops or campaign against smoking or chewing tobacco there should also be advertisements in public interest that this actor owes the Department this much of amount accumulated over this period of time. The officers concerned should also be given a penal action by deducting fine from their salary for not pursuing the case.

Whatever be the legal provisions, the actors taking cover in, strict penal action will send a strong message even if the film community in both houses of parliament tries to resist.
